Voter ID requirement petition approved in Michigan

The Michigan Board of Canvassers reconvened Thursday morning to discuss two amendment proposals, approving one and rescinding the other.

The board reviewed and approved a language proposal submitted by Americans for Citizens Voting. The ballot summary details a law that would require the Secretary of State to verify the citizenship of existing voters and “document proof” to register.
